Mohini polyptych poster set

A polyptych is a painting or other two-dimensional artwork that has more than three panels, usually hinged and folding together. The term "polyptych" describes any work of art that has more than one constitutive part. For example, a diptych is a two-part work of art, a triptych is a three-part work, and a tetraptych or quadriptych has four parts.

The idea for a Mohini polyptych originated from wandering thoughts sitting infront of a dual screen monitor setup and it being noticed more than it should have

The repesentamen of mohini in this collectible poster set are the  intricately detailed Shilabalika mohini statues in and around the Navaranga ( a covered hall in front of the garbhagrihas in the Hoysala temple architecture. The word navaranga means "nine sectors".)  of Belur Chennakesava temple.

In literature, apart from the statue meaning, Salabhanjika can mean a doll, or fairy, or a seductress (harlot) depending on the context. In these contexts, they are also known as madanakai, madanika or shilabalika.
